Our story
We saw the statements. We knew the markup. We couldn't keep quiet about it.
In 2007, our founders were inside the industry — watching tiered pricing plans, padded interchange, and three-year leases on terminals that cost less than dinner. They watched merchants lose hundreds of dollars a month and never know why.
So they walked out and built Scale Payments around a single, almost embarrassingly simple idea: put a real person at the merchant's door. Read the statement out loud. Show the math. Earn the business — or don't.
Eighteen years and thousands of merchants later, that's still how we work. Same model. Same handshake. Same direct line to the same rep — just with better hardware and faster funding.
